1) on an Open Evening (go to this page for information).
2) as a member of a special Group.
Either way there is a basic program for each visit, which will include a visit to the planetarium and a visit to see the historic telescopes. If you join us for a themed evening or as a member of a group there will also be an introductory talk.
To join us for an open evening there is no need to book, just check the weather and the theme and arrive about 15 minutes before the start time. (for location see the finding us page)
For a group visit we can deal with groups of 25 to 60 for night-time visits and 25 to 120 during the day. Visits can begin as early as 10 am and end as late as 10 pm. Clearly there is no sure way of knowing in advance whether it will be possible to see through the telescopes on the night in question. However images of the current NLO members can be viewed in the main foyer and in the domes.
For special visits either by groups or schools/colleges please contact the booking secretary on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone no: 01395 579941 and leave a message.
A visit takes roughly 2 hours, but could be longer on a clear night if the telescopes are in use. Please remember the tours at night will be moving around the grounds and it may be cold, so bring appropriate clothing.
Adults £ 6.00 (no concessions), children and full-time students £ 3:00, Family (2 adults, 2 children) £15:00.
The NLO does not have a card machine, so all payments need to be by cash or cheque.
