The Astronomy Group meets on friday evenings beginning at 7:30pm.

The astronomy group comprises five section:

1. The Astro Scouts for students under 16.
2. The Observers section
3. The Planetary and Deep Space Exploration section
4. Spectroscopy Section
5. SPAM section

On each Friday evening the leaders of each section will arrange appropriate activities/tasks or lectures for 7:30 and then there will be a general talk at 8:30 for all groups. It is possible that smaller groups may form in each section as they develop in order to account for all members' interests. To learn more about each of the sections please view the links below. Each month a set of challenges are given out, copies of which can be found in the holder at the back of the lecture theatre for anyone interested. At the end of the month a video is made of all the observations, images and drawings from the month for people to see.
